A forex swap is when you keep a trade open overnight.
- Swap Short:
Keeping a Short position open overnight.
- Swap Amount
Will vary depending on which pair you choose.
- Reason
It depends on the difference in the interest rates of the central banks of the 2 currencies in the pair.
- Calculating Swap Short
(One Point X Trade Size X Swap Short in Points.)
Example for GBPUSD: 0.00001 X 100,000 X 3.43
= $3.43
This means you would receive $3.43 for keeping 1 lot of GBPUSD overnight.
- One Point =
0.00001 in GBPUSD as a point is the last digit in the price.
- Trade Size =
Lots X 100,000 (Contract Size)
= 100,000
Swap Short in Points =
